Christmas: the Modern Guilt

Okay so… I know that everyone likes preparing for Christmas in August.

I am so not good a this, because the year I bought everything in advance I misplaced all my gifts.

So, I still need to shop… but when I go to stores and see countdown clocks I feel a bit like this:

Nice Pee Wee placement, right?

Am I the only one who really dislikes countdowns to holidays? I mean they make me so nervous:

Isabel Stare-A-thon: “Isabel” is the word

Did  you know that “Grease” was originally about a girl who transfers from Wildomar into the city, and all her hijinks? And was originally called “Isabel”?

It’s totally true. And all the kids at her new school couldn’t stop staring or singing at her.

But because of an unfortunate event during practice for “Isabel Lightning” where there happened to be no survivors… the play was changed to the title we know today “Grease.”

But think of what may have been.

Pick the one that’s most beneficial to you, or the ones your friends are most into, because you don’t want to partake in a lonely, friendless sport. Remember… there is no I in “TEAM” or “BAND” or “PHOSPHATE”

Isabel Stare-A-thon: George Clooney

There are celebrities who are very devoted to causes like Habitat for Humanity, UNICEF, Pancakes for Pirates, The League Of Ladies. And there are some celebrities that like to get hands on in their causes.

George Clooney is one of this hands on kind of guys… or in this case “eyes on”:

He’s even making a documentary called “the George who stares at Isabel” which currently has a running time of 42 hours 5 minutes.

It has all the markings of  a blockbuster success, it will also feature Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Portia De Rossi staring into the field of Isabel.

Take this fine day to have a peek at Isabel yourself.

Isabel Stare-A-thon: Welcome to Isabel

Did you know the original version of “Welcome to Paradise” was about Isabel?

Well neither did 2/3 of Green Day either. After much arguing they used a synonym for staring at Isabel that made the song flow better… now most people know the song as “Welcome to Paradise”

However if you ask Billie Joe he’ll tell you the truth about his Isabel staring past:

Remember to stare at Isabel as long as you can today… she’s 14% more Isabely than yesterday.
