Drawing Challenge day 23

What inspires you? So many things actually, but today… 1980s movies.

The music, the costumes, the Molly Ringwald. It’s pretty much what every day with me is about.

I was so happy to draw this pretty in pink inspired doodle!

Pretty In Pink

This is the second in the my office as  John Hughes movie.

My friend Mimi is always giving me advice, and listening to my romantic foibles that sound like only John Hughes could create.

Here we are as Andie and Iona… and I’m pretty sure I’m telling her about that cute guy who’s always staring at me…

But when he talks to me our conversations are always awkward and mostly about chicken.

I loved drawing Iona’s apartment. If Mimi didn’t have a family I know her house would look like this

“Don’t you want me”

I am so ready to see “Take Me Home Tonight.”

This week I already watched “Win a Date with Tad Hamilton,” and had fond memories of when Arlene and I feigned her straightness with pictures of Josh Duhamel’s Tad Hamilton. Also I just remembered I’m never watching “In Good Company” again, that was lame…

Ahhh memories.

Okay, back to the story at hand. See this music video for the movie take me home tonight… it’s full of 1980s movie reference gems.

Enjoy it, I still can’t decide if my fav. Michael J. Fox reference is Teen wolf or Marty McFly??

Handsome Update

I feel like this week has been the “unofficial handsome man week”… As I have another handsome man post going on.

So I was watching “Sixteen Candles” last night… which is not much of a surprise.

And I just needed to make an important update:

Jake Ryan is still handsome.

RIP John Hughes

I am so sad for the loss of John Hughes

I learned a lot of things in life from his movies including the following:

Jake Ryan is delicious

Always know who wears the pants in your family

Lying can be fun

he creeps me out… sorry Judd

stay away from bohunks

everyone loves John Cusak

The Donger is Awesome

Family Vacations may kill you

Yes, I do want Diane Sawyer limited edition earrings… Thank you Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Chicago is where dreams come true

why not to use aftershave

and the love of vests

Thank you John Hughes, for all the wonderful things  you have taught us… And all the wonderful movies that people will adore forever…the world will not be the same without you.
