I heard the news today, oh boy…
At 6 am my sister told me that one of my all time favorite people who have ever made a melody on this planet passed away.
My reaction was, as always is in this situation… “no.”
It was just his birthday.
He just released an album on Friday.
But then I checked my phone and had like 6 different people telling that it was true… that David Bowie was gone.
Now, like many people I never met him in person. But I feel like I knew him on a different plane. He was such an inspiration to art (not just my own), to color, to vibrations. He was really something else. And I’m so glad the world got to experience the reaches of his imagination down to his last day.
Thanks David Bowie for all the magic, and all the inspiration,
Is there life on Mars? And do they celebrate birthdays there?
I hope so. And more on that topic today is David Bowie’s birthday.
And since he’s one of my favorite things I decided to draw this in his honor:
I’ve been on a big kick of listening to David Bowie.
In my car on the way to work it’s the “Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust”
On the way home it’s all about “Modern Love”.
I know Halloween is still really far away…
But I’ve been thinking about costumes… and I’m totally torn in a Natalie Imruglia way…
here are my ideas:
1. Lady Gaga… because she’s super slick and I can wear triangles…
2. Fergie because I may want to be flossy flossy
3. Mary Tyler Moore… only if you’ll be Buddy Holly
4.David Bowie… however more like Ziggy Stardust
5. Julia Gulia… however I need Robbby Hart.
6. The Spaceman… you know you want to
7. Aunt Bee and her pickles
8. Molly Ringwald in this outfit:
Help Me out…
