Best Ideas from today

Today I let my mind wander wobble about the best projects ever and this is what I came up with.

As a disclaimer: this stems from the theory of Taco Room created by Jimmy and me.

1. A less exclusive and fancy version of taco room for less fancy hungry people (like how vera wang has a clothing line for kohls). I call it “burrito foyer”, it gives people the thrill of taco room with the fun hipster notion of “the hole in the wall eatery.”

2. Taco Universe. The biggest best place to ever eat a taco. ever. period:

3. Enchilada Estates, it’s kind of like the Americana… except you live in your own suburban wonderland with 24/7 access to a concierge ready to serve you with the brilliant award winning menu of everyones favorite taco room.

To quote Amber these ideas is “bomb diggity.”
word.

The mad rush

I was in such a rush this morning I completely forgot my doodles of Isabel as a pirate.
Seriously.
My navy sweater had a stain on it, and I had to grab my high school uniform sweater. Which thankfully still fits.
Actually, I was so late I forgot my necklace too.
And to make it worse I was driving and the light was green but the camera for running the red light took a picture of me.
And I was still late to work.
Blerg!

The End of Summer

So this is how Jimmy and I talk during the summer…

So now that summer is over whatever shall we discuss? Answer: Probably how cold we are.

Also I am sorry I didn’t feel like coloring or not making it look like it was on a crinkly old piece of paper.

Lists of Yesterday… today

Since this weekend I was trapped at home with 5 very small, super homeless kittens (I will explain in another post.) I decided to clean up and give away some already read books. Including books I’ve had since high school… Like that one from Mr. O’s class that we never ever used, not even once.

On a side note: One of my personal favorites “The Picture of Dorian Gray” will never be given away, but was with those stacks of books.

To get to the point of this post… I was perusing my old reading material when a hilarious list slid out from between its pages. It was a list with who my high school friends would be if it were the 1980’s.

The answers are as follows:

Christine’s tide would be high as Blondie’s front woman Deborah Harry

Although no longer blond, Christine could pull off this look. Give it a whirl.

Isabel would be rocking and rolling as Joan Jett.

I wonder if Joan could love Clay Aiken like that...

Nikki T. would be Chrissy Hynde of the Pretenders fame. Because both of them love black clothes

Nikki T is all about the rock n' roll, and and wearing black...

Lisa was would be lacey glove wearing Madonna…

and Yours truly would be the Technicolor Cyndi Lauper.

Okay I mostly calm down my clothing for work... but neon green is a neutral, I promise.

All of these things still in a way make sense.

I think this photo fills in the mind gap of this list.

There is something to say about the hilarious truths of High School girls. Boy, do I still love making lists though.

Taco Lake

In school I was always trying to link my favorite things like Modernism and Gothicism, and tacos.

I came up with many ( mostly failed) ideas to link them into a beautiful hybrid… including a fake Architecture Firm called “Fiberglass Taco”…

Well today no one has shot down my next foray into a taco hybrid world… A taco ballet:

I call it “Taco Lake”

Here is a more than helpful advertising poster:

It's also 250% more delicious and spicy than "Swan Lake"

And here I is a great rendering of me dancing “the Dance of the blithe salsa”:

My imagination is limitless… because much like swan lake I plan on pulling all the stops including a children’s dance where they are little taquitos.

Unmotivating Words from Studio

Here is a small collection of some of the hilarious and hurtful things I heard during 5 years of architecture school.

All names have been removed to protect the innocent, and me from lawsuits.

The last one offended photobucket. Well it wasn’t so pleasant being told that either….

It makes you Wonder

Today’s Story time with Lauren is about Elliott the cat:

Sometimes I see my cat staring at birds. He stares at them in a way where you can tell he wants to eat their faces.

But it’s cute, because he is an indoor cat and has no chance of ever catching birds.

And if he did he may pass out from excitement.

If we lived in the Twilight Zone he would wake up to find he was a bird all along:

Decorating with Elliott

Today’s storytime adventure involves another true story.

This story takes place in a little beige house with white trim. In this house resides a family, a family with 3 lovely pets.

As you can tell this is probably my house, and those are probably my pets that I am talking about.

Specifically, tt’s about Elliott, the cat.

To my cat there is nothing more relaxing than recreational decorating. He enjoys stealing weird bits of string, paper, paperclips, twisty ties, and unused popsicle sticks (from a failed art project) to scatter all about his kitty tube.

When you clean up the area he goes back out to the world to recollect these bits, or similar friends of theirs. I think he is inspired to do this because he knows that I work with architecture.

I think if he had an architectural style it would be deconstructionist.
