Birthday Flowers

I was going to post something that had to due with my never ending cavalcade of life failures. But after I had lunch with a friend I realized it really isn’t so bad. I wouldn’t be who I am without failures, and there was no way I wouldn’t have tried.

It’s just one of those things… that just didn’t work out for Ol’ Laurie Lue

BUT!!!!

Then this morning I heard it was one of my fashion icons/ cosmic twin’s birthday!!!

And I live for Birthday’s…

Especially… Brandon Flowers!!!

Not only is he the lead singer of the “Killers”… but he also has a penchant for the Cure and wearing fashion while carving out some melodies of his own that have a special place in my soul.

Happy Birthday Spaceman

He also reminds me that I really need to get a gold lame leopard print tuxedo… just for funsies.

Happy Wednesday good people of the internet,

♥Lauren

Flowers for Pomona

This is not exactly the flowers we went to see. But I had to clarify this, as this does exist in Pomona

Christine and I took a stroll to the fox theatre in Pomona… to see Brandon Flowers on Tuesday night.

Christine with strolling action

On our first attempt to gain entrance to the music venue I encountered the most vengeful of security guards who told us we had to throw away our lipgloss. Now, I had some fancy lipgloss with me, that I have become accustom to and had to be returned to the car… Electric pink gloss me and you forever.

This Lip Gloss is quarantined...

(I have since concoted a theory that Brandon Flowers has a lipgloss phobia and thought he would surely be glossed by some rogue hoochies.)

This may be true.

The show started with the magically accented Fran Healy.

You remember him from this:

He was awesome. During his set he played a song called “Sing Me to Sleep” which is a duet. He requested we imagine him having a Victor/ Victoria look… I could have helped him if I had been allowed my lipgloss. He was so awesome Christine bought his cd. (Which everyone should buy!)

And he finished his set with this song from Travis. Which is one of my personal fav’s.

While Mr. Flowers set was being unveiled the set change music was awesome. And included this song, which I sang with reckless abandon:

So fi-i-ine. We were in a more than thrilled mood. And then the hoochies came. Dressed like J-lo trannies from a 50 cent video, they loomed behind us… brushing us with their fingers hair and what not. All over our back regions. Screaming so loud you would have thought they shot Puffy.

I really though they were at the wrong concert.

Someone in this picture looks like a tranny J-lo. This person is not Christine nor me.

Then Brandon Appeared on stage kind of looking like the brawny man. He was fabulous. He sang and jerked around on the stage like we were at some fabulous new wave 1980s concert.

He could sell me paper towels anytime...

We also saw a girl from high school at the concert who recognized me in the darkness of the theater. I am mad recognizable.
The last song Brandon played left me in a conundrum because he played “when you were young” which has a line about someone not looking anything like Jesus…. but look at the guy next to Brandon he kind of looks like Jesus….

On our way to our car, we stopped an waited for Brandon. Christine got away and I was smushed into the crowd and briefly into Brandon himself. He has great skin, btw. It was crazy. Also I have this nice bruise to have as a keepsake….

pressed flowers

Awesome sauce.

Oh Fuse, I am in Misery

So I have been without my Fuse TV for 12 days now and I feel like I’m falling so far away from current music videos, or entertainment that fits my attention span.

So I either have to find them online or listen to Jimmy tell me about them.

Today I feel I must discuss 2 videos one described to me by Jimmy and one witnessed on Youtube, by 2 very different artists that kinda look similar:

So Jimmy super does not like this music video for “Misery” by Maroon 5. He told me it was 4 minutes of Adam Levine be all up, over and about some girl. SO, it’s a typical Maroon 5 video:

I am cool with this, and I think as always the song is catchy as hell. I also like that he is being beaten up in the streets of LA by some girl who looks like she way made up by Amy Winehouse. Ooooh also she likes knives, stabs his hand and also beats him senseless! I’m not so offended by this.

On a side note: I am just not so cool with Adam Levine grinding and staring at me, it’s happened before when I had really good seats to a Maroon 5 concert, and I don’t ever want to be that close to him ever again.

The next music video is “Crossfire” by Killers-less Brandon Flowers (whose solo album is lusciously titled “Flamingos”). I do like the song and I do like the Flowers as previously stated about 20 times in this blog…but why is he in these predicaments? And why does Charlize Theron have so much time to rescue him? Why is he so happy to be in a straightjacket? Why is he not in this costume:

Eh, I still enjoy it.

Feathery Goals

One of my many awesome goals is to use more feathers in my clothing attire.

I want to look like I fell out of Brandon Flower’s feathery feathery closet.

I want to be little birds stunt double.

I however, would like to not be attacked by my cat.

Every feather helps.

Losing Touch

I’m in no hurry, you go on
And tell your friends I’m losing touch
Fill their heads with rumours of impending doom
It must be true

I have no clue why there are so many “Killers” inspired posts as of late.

But I’m really in this mood for their synthisized wonder tunes…

I have a feeling this site may become a darling to the Brandon Flowers community since I have been adoring his clothing as of late:

His clothing is quite smashing actually. I think more people should dress like he does…

And he also reminds me that I really need to invest in some feathery outfits and more feathery accessories:

Did i mention that the music is also fun:

The Spaceman

I have a feeling the biggest halloween costume of the year is going to be Brandon Flowers Outfit from the music video “Spaceman.”

I have previously stated that I love that video.

AND more so I have commented on this more than rad costume. Which someday even I (a 5′ tall girl) would love to own.

I really think that it has everything to do with the shoulder pads. Or as we should call them… rad pads :)

But why I really think that This is going on is because I get at least 30 searches a week on this page of “brandon flowers spaceman”… or “brandon flowers spaceman costume”

which I find very awesome. I emplore you if you dress like this at any time PLEASE send me a picture! I will put them all over here.
