Isabel Stare-A-Thon: For the Scientist in You

Now I would be the first person to tell you I know not much about science… All I remember from my brief exposure to this field is usually marred by teachers who inspired me to sit in a corner and doodle. (By the way thanks super bad teachers, I get paid money to draw now.)

Anyhoo, besides starting small fires in chemistry class, and the fact that the Galapagos Islands exist I have no real scientific knowledge*.

But you know who does love science? Isabel… yes, the one we stare at. She really does, in fact if science were a real life person she’d marry him.

And that brings us to this sciency Isabel stare-a-thon picture:

So go, tell all your friends about this site, and science. Because both things are super awesome… and KEEP STARING!

*Maybe I know more science than this, but then again… maybe not.

Happy Best Friend Day!

Today I found out possibly one of the best things ever. It is Best Friends Day!

A special day created just to celebrate the awesomeness of your bestie! Now, I am a lucky girl because I have tons of super best friends… and well some so-so acquaintances (but today isn’t about them!) … and TWO fantastic best friends!

And since today is about the creme de la creme of friendship, I would like to thank them for participating in 11 years of good times with me.

This has included (but is not limited to) countless trips to Disneyland, sitting in the big booth at BJ’s, weeks straight of giggling (cumulative), being banned from DJ Pizza Lunches, creepy/weird teachers, concerts that were awesome, being attacked by kittens while sleeping,  4 years of Catholic school uniforms, taking photos with strangers, watching the entire first season of Jem to see 1 scene, buying promise headbands, and One scary movie night (which is not necessarily the night that we watched ‘Centerstage” after grad-night.)

Without you two my three-ring circus would just be one ringed, I would be the lone musketeer, the last of the blind mice, that one really bored Bronte sister.

Weird and wonderful things come in three’s, don’t they?

Isabel Stare-a-thon 2011: Statistically speaking

Today on the Isabel Stare-A-thon 2011 aka the best thing you are doing today we look into Isabel with numerical data!

And since Isabel’s life is all about data, let’s get into this. With the assistance of the Stare-a-thon League the following chart was created:

That has been a question we’ve all been wondering for weeks now. The Chicken population has responded well to this years stare-a-thon… And, I’m really glad to see the growth of the sea creature population, nearly tripling in the last year. I think this may have a lot to with the popular use of periscope this year….

But I digress, as interesting as I find the steady rat viewership they at the The Stare-a-thon League are more interested in how people are staring this year and this brings us to chart B:

Now remember to stare everybody! In any which way that makes you the most comfortable!

Isabel Stare-A-Thon: The Diagram

Jolly Hollers Fellow Isabel Stare friends!

It has occurred to me that some people like to see sweet diagrams along with their staring!

So, on this the Joyous and Sweet 16th day of the stare-a-thon I bring to you this diagram about how your recently purchased periscope helps you stare at my childhood friend:

Remember to keep the stare-a-thon alive this holiday season!

Isabel Stare-a-thon: Crafty Stare-buddies

Hello Stare-ers!

Today on this special Monday edition of the Isabel Stare-a-thon I bring to you two men who are truly staring enthusiasts:

Yann and Lars the Staring Cousins!

Their favorite passtime of winter is to get decked out in Victorian costumes, and peruse the streets finding something to stare at. This year they set their sights on Isabel, and after fashioning these clever personal pericopes they say they will never go back to staring at anyone else:

Keep the Stare-a-thon in your heart!

Isabel Stare-a-thon: Stare Hard

This 2011 has met some major hurdles so far… a lack of photoshop, power outages, loss of computer memory. But it always shows up again with sweet and sour vengence.

I appreciate all the offline staring that has been happening lately. I think it has to do with how incredibly handy and useful periscopes have been this staring season.

So here’s a thanks to all those handy periscopers about the land:

Remember to stare because you care!

This message was sponsored by Submarine Sandwichland… a free periscope in every kids meal!

Isabel Stare-a-thon: Thoroughness

Hello People of the interwebs!

Today is a very special day, not only is it a day I should have not come into work. But, also the 10th day of the stare-a-thon!

I would like to take this time to thank Starers for joining in the most wonderful time of the year! Also to celebrate their thoroughness in staring… like taking time off of work to stare, adding the stare-a-thon app to your personal internetting devices, buying a good sturdy periscope, and lurking about Isabel in the shadows as to not interfere with her schedule.

Also I would like to thank Evan of Sandyville, Ohio a mild mannered taco artist at for being so dedicated to the cause:

His other art must beside curating Mexican foods must be staring

Isabel Stare-a-thon 2011: Now Compatible with Sweden!

Hi Everyone!

Because we are in the thick of the Isabel Stare-A-Thon 2011. You may find yourself far from Isabel, and you may need to get the appropriate equipment.

If you are in Sweden for example, and you reach the terrifying conclusion that you haven’t seen enough live Isabel to fill your quota. You should grab a friendly scientist and with a simple use of triangulation, a graphic calculator, and some conic thingy you can find the perfect angle to see Isabel -9 hours from you! Plus now you have a new science friend that you can share the stare-a-thon with!

Fun fact: Seeing Isabel when you are in Sweden is just like looking into the past, but not!

Fun way #4 is a tight fit, but totally worth it

Fun Way #5 is the best if you want to secretly stare!

I hope these doodles inspire you to stare  because you care. Also Isabel are you paranoid about periscopes, yet?
