Isabel Stare-A-thon: The Local Celebrity

The Isabel Stare-A-thon is in full operating mode today. And as Isabel is enjoying her local haunts she’s finding out how many followers the Stare-A-thon really has.

While traipsing about her local zoo like establishment she found out that the “Isabel Stare-a-thon” is a balanced outreach program for the animals and fixtures of the zoo.

While on her way from seeing actual real rhinoceros and lemurs (obviously you can see she is… not at the LA zoo)  Isabel stumbled upon this friend of the marathon:

Remember everyone every glance helps the cause!

Isabel Stare-a-thon 2011: It Begins

Good Evening Fine people of the interwebs,

I have the best of news to report…That beautiful, and magical time of year is back! So get out your eyedrops and dust off your binoculars because…

it is finally time to start staring at Isabel for 30 days and nights!

I started off the stare-a-thon in the best way possible, by staring at Isabel in person this very morning. It put me right in the spirit of getting this Stare-a-thon in action! So after consulting the council of starers we created the new theme for this particular stare-a-thon:

Remember until December 20th and Canadian Boxing Day… all I’s are to be on Isabel!

Friday I’m in love… with Chicken

Happy Friday Internet!

I know that I like to make constant references to the Cure in both speech and doodle.

And that I constantly  mention/ eat/ doodle chicken.

And I wonder how can I combine both to make the best thing ever? Do I eat crispy golden chicken while listening to “Just like Heaven”? Or can I do more with two of my favorite things.

So much like bacon wrapped shrimp, I have made them into a special and delicious combination in today’s doodle:

And that is the way I like it.

Computer Update:

My computer is still not properly functioning. And I have so many silly deadlines… I feel like I will never get the chance to fix my improperly working Photoshop. I will try sometime soon.

26 Years of Lauren

So I must say that I had a supremely awesome birthday.
Besides the ruin of my most trustworthy computer….
And after 26 awesome years on this planet, I feel that I am extremely lucky person with only a year of awesome ahead of me.

And here are some things that I am so going to do this very year:

– Laugh 30% more. Because laughing feels good… But, can the world handle it?
– Take more dancing classes because, I can dance if I want to.
– Learn how to send smoke signals… to Isabel.
– Collect Flags of the world and give them to Christine as Presents.
– Learn the Capitols of all the countries in the world.
– Say “yes” to more things that sound fun.
– Travel more so I can use my cute Pan Am Bag.
– Learn French. So I can travel to Europe and not use my limited and all together rarely used Spanish.
Yeah, I took Spanish in High School because it was easy and I wanted to learn how to say “vest” in Spanish… it’s “chaleco” btw
– Complete my ARE tests. (daunting)
– Find a great assortment of Songs I can put Jimmy’s name into and sing them to Jimmy, when he doesn’t want me to.
– Finish the end of lists better

Also this post is a  Thank you to all my friends who make all the times I have the best! And all of the people who come here to look at my doodles and how I make fun of myself and my coworkers!

Things That I broke: My Computer

Okay so someone out there gave my computer a horrible horrible virus. And my photoshop is not working. What that means is… I am stuck until my computer is fully healthy.
But next week there will be the return of the Isabel Stare-a-thon, and more doodles and professionals for all.
I will probably make another post today as it is my totally awesome 26th year on on this earth.

Please enjoy this picture of Julius Caesar until I get my stuff together:

Professional Quote of the Day: November 11th

Good Afternoon Professionalites!

It’s the most wonderful time of the day! No not 11:11 on 11-11-11. But it is time for the professional quote of the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you ever feel like the little things you add to projects is minuscule, non-important, or even easily forgettable?

Well Professional Eric doesn’t think so. He very much appreciates your details as shown in this Friday version of the PQOTD:

Boy do professionals love their details, and using the word “incorporated.”

Hahaha

Churro Queen

I don’t want to ruin anyone’s dreams here (Sorry, Christine), but there is a new Benevolent Queen of Churro’s in town… and that girl is me.

After very little deliberation my Office decided I shall be the Churro Queen.

I got a beautiful sash, a bouquet of Churros, and all the scholarship money ($.75) associated with the title.

With my victory in mind I release the following statement:
I promise to keep the office of Churro Royalty steadfast and true, and I solemnly vow that no churro will get left behind.

But I would also like to add that I am only the Churro Queen of Glendora… I think Eagle Rock, Pasadena and Duarte have separate and equal Churro Queen Titles. And they are up for grabs… But I will bring it during the Miss Churro Universe circuit, girl.

Have a churro-rific weekend people!

Hall and Oates and Churros

There is nothing better in an already great day than when you add a churro to it.

I was so excited that Amber went to Costco and presented me with the most delicious churro known to Glendora! I upon making my acceptance speech on having received a delectable delight during work hours proceeded to sing a song to my beautiful dessert:

And just in case you need some help imagining the song, or want to sing to your special churro:
