I was thinking lately.
Why have I not been posting my drawings on this website?
Now that I have an instagram, this webby is not always my first thought. But, the think about instagram is I don’t want to write a fun story to go with the drawing.
And isn’t that half the fun?
Anyhoo. Happy Valentines day from the Everyday showgirl,
Today I was just thinking about my cat Elliott.
He’s a weird little guy.
And I felt kinda bad leaving him for like half of October, while I went and saw the world. When I got home he was so happy.
And of course… I don’t think he really missed me, just you know he missed my ability to feed him:
I wanted to say thanks for all the years of this blog and working on my skills as an illustrator. I have had a very strange month, it was sad at some parts, exciting at others. And all together memorable for my next goals in life.
I got a job, actually illustrating. And it was really thrilling, so it’s Freelance but, it’s amazing!
And it made me feel really great.
I am trying to be more conscious about posting more… even though I’m super busy. But I had to share that every day I’m getting closer to doing more things that make me happy. I hope this November finds you well!
And enjoy technicolor giraffe until we meet again
Halloween is one of my favorite days and I’ve really been living it up dressing and spiders and bats for the last 31 days. It’s all coming to an end though, a sparkly end. This year I decided to dress as a glorious cactus and well, it was fantastic!
I hope you had a great Halloween!
Yeah… it’s been a long time.
I don’t know if anyone comes on here anymore.
But I still kinda exist in the world. And I’m always making art.
But I’m not always writing stories, which is kind of a bummer… and I’m wickedly out of practice.
For a quick countdown of updates of what’s happened in my life since my last post read below:
- I have have several new jobs- one of them is moderately successful freelancer of illustration
- I have helped several companies make graphics for marketing purposes
- I’m making a book
- I have gone from not visiting New York ever to visiting it 2 different season of the last year. I took a train between states in the United States and that was weird.
- I have seen seasons… and discovered there aren’t really any in California.
- I never grew taller
- I made a stunning mermaid Halloween costume
- I learned about premiere league soccer
- I have an instagram where sometimes I even show my own face: viciouslysweet08
- I’m still obsessed with music and illustrating people who I see every day
It’s good to be back,
I have had a lot going on recently. I have experience some big losses, but I have to keep on keeping on, as they say.
And this little pinata is really helping improve the mood:
And he was inspired by overdosing on Kimmy Schmidt and their party that had a “Mexican candy animal”
This is where my brain is everyone.
I was commenting at work how everyone is so loud.
And then I got told by my friend, I was also one of the loud people.
At first I felt a little shocked… me loud? And then I realized it’s because everyone in the company comes to visit me at my desk…. like everyone.
People from different floors come to see what I’m up to.
It isn’t too bad, especially if they come to visit me and bring me no additional work… if they have more work, they can find another friend.
So today I had the worst deadline… and I have to draw.
I’m was drawing and falling asleep… at my desk, in the elevator, and in my car.
And then I realized I only have one more heinous day of work to go before the project is over.
And I completed with my team 52 reports fulfilling a clients civil engineering dreams.
And isn’t that what its all about???
Anyhoo today’s drawing theme was to draw a character as a creation of Dr. Seuss. I started to draw a cow and then I ended up drawing Morrissey in a struggle about flan
I can’t explain it any more than that.
And it’s Season’s Birthday, and she’s magical! I need to finish that doodle and put it up here too!
What inspires you? So many things actually, but today… 1980s movies.
The music, the costumes, the Molly Ringwald. It’s pretty much what every day with me is about.
I was so happy to draw this pretty in pink inspired doodle!
