Let’s talk about “Sweet Disposition” from the Temper Trap
I am so lovin’ this song. It reminds me or Erasure, I think because it says “surrender” in a very familiar way… if you know what I mean. Also it’s the music beats that make this song good.
The music video is fun:
I am not so good at roller skating. But never tried it in space. Maybe I’m totally rad at it there. My non-broken wrist tells me no.
This is for people who want to watch music videos.
I give to you:
Top 5 “no one would want this for their ‘jam’ songs”
Michael Bolton- “Can I touch you there?”
Yes this is a real song. This song sounds wrong… not just the innuendo of the title- but the very inapropriate pan flute. And may I add the fedora does nothing for Mr. Bolton, nor does splashing about in a river make anything about this song better.
Jewel- “Hands”
Okay this song would be like the weirdest song for a girl at a club to scream “this is my jam”… unless she really likes hands. And what club would play this???
Green Day – “21 Guns”
For all the reasons stressed in my previous post about Green Day. This is the whiniest song ever. And the answer to the following analogy
BLINK 182: ADAM’S SONG
Mandy Moore- In my Pocket
This song is here for the obvious reasons. Mandy’s lame. And this song is about pennies!!! Secretly this is Isabel’s favorite song, an interesting fact.
And finally anything by Smash Mouth. If it were 9 years ago sure. But don’t try to get me into hearing ‘All Star’ now that I am 23 years old, because no it doesn’t rock. And yes, all I think about when I see it is “Mystery Men.”
Okay as well known as I could possibly make this…. I love the Cure, I adore them so much I could use a “♥”. Actually one of my dreams has always been to meet Robert Smith… he’s the definition of cool to me!
I must also say that I cannot stop listening to The Black Kids, they have this song that sounds so much like the Cure the first time I heard it I felt the joy of Robert Smith.
Apparently not everyone digs their sound because they sound too much like the Cure… but in my opinion sounding like the Cure can never be wrong!!!!!
And the music video could not be any more awesome. If at all possible they combined the Cure and Marie Antoinette together… (yeah more that just the soundtrack!!!)
here’s some clips from the video that state my case :)
looks like Marie Antoinette by Sophia Coppala….
also it looks like the video for boys don’t cry
I could just pass out due to my obscene happiness!!!!
Tonight there is some sort of special American Idol event going on, but here at Viciously Sweet we are so not into it. Especially because on a bitchy sidenote Lauren actually watched it this season with her mother and liked someone with glasses… who was voted off.
But Anyway Viciously Sweet does not condone voting for new American Idol’s when we already have a perfectly delicious one.
Here’s Viciously Sweet’s fav. American Idol:
Don’t you ever dream a little dream of Clay??
with America’s Favorite Isabel… and this is not a snazzy premiere they are at, they just got stuck going past one one the way to coldstone.
And you know the cameras love them… and their love.
♫LAUREN
p.s. tomorrow there will be a super extra special post about Clay and Isabel :)
Does anyone ever wonder about Robert Smith from the Cure??? Besides me? I find that when my mind wanders it usually ends at Robert Smiths hair.
Is anyone else noticing this resurgence of tendrils much like that of Mr. Smiths? I saw a girl at the mall who could have been his hair twin on Sunday.
I wanted to run to her and ask her about hair maintenance but realized she probably never combed her hair.. thus it’s appearance.
I also think I’m so interested in these specific locks because I have always associated the Cure with ultimate coolness, and realize in an architectural office… maybe Robert’s hair would not be so awesome.
No one would be able to see past my monitor, and i think things would get stuck in it. So alas his mighty style shall never be mine
Also every morning when i wake my hair looks like this:
And since I’m not from New Jersey circa 1986… it’s just not my thing.
